Emergency Response Codes & Plans

Please note that the Code of the Month program has been renamed to the Be Ready program. To learn more about this and other changes to the program please see What is the Be Ready Program? and the Be Ready Program Schedule.

Emergency Response Codes and Emergency Response Plans are intended to provide guidance to staff as to how to safely respond to a variety of threats/disruptions such as fire (Code Red), missing person (Code Yellow), and an evacuation (Code Green).

Site/Service-specific Emergency Response Codes and Plans are contained in your (bright yellow) Emergency Response Manuals. Initial actions for each Emergency Response Code are also detailed in the Emergency Response Codes Quick Reference Guide template.

Your responsibility is to understand these plans and the actions you may have to undertake in the event of these emergencies. For more information, see the Emergency & Disaster Management Policy.
