Assistive Equipment, Technology And Medical/Surgical Supplies

Where an Operator owns and provides the Assistive Equipment, Technology, Reusable Medical Devices, or Non-Critical Medical Devices for the purpose of providing Health Care to a Client, the Operator must establish, implement and maintain documented policies and procedures for:

  1. regular routine maintenance for the purposes of general upkeep against wear and tear;
  2. regular preventative maintenance and repairs for the purposes of addressing wear and tear or sudden failure of equipment components;
  3. documentation of the routine maintenance, preventative maintenance and repairs performed by the Operator; and
  4. identification and reporting of any unsafe Assistive Equipment, Technology, Reusable Medical Devices or Non-Critical Medical Devices by the Staff using it.

Notes

  • Standard 6.3 is only applicable to the Assistive Equipment, Technology, Reusable Medical Devices or Non-Critical Medical Devices owned and provided by the Operator
