Sharing of Client Information

To the extent allowed for by law, an Operator must ensure that the following is communicated to other Operators providing Health Care to a Client:

  1. the Client's necessary Health Information; and
  2. the Client’s Personal Directive, Enduring Power of Attorney, guardianship, trusteeship order, or Advance Care Planning document.

  • When sharing Client information, the following provincial legislation should be considered for applicability:
    • Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act
    • Health Information Act
    • Personal Information Protection Act
    • Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act
