Health Care Providers
An Operator must establish, implement and maintain documented policies and procedures that require a criminal record check is obtained:
- from each prospective employee as a condition of employment and prior to commencement of employment;
- from each volunteer prior to commencement of volunteer service; and
- within the six months prior to commencement of employment or volunteer service.
Notes
- Auditors will require access to employee and volunteer files to evidence Standard 8.1
- Standard 8.1 applies to all employees and volunteers that commence after April 1, 2016.
