Health Care Providers

An Operator must establish, implement and maintain documented policies and procedures that require a criminal record check is obtained:

  1. from each prospective employee as a condition of employment and prior to commencement of employment;
  2. from each volunteer prior to commencement of volunteer service; and
  3. within the six months prior to commencement of employment or volunteer service.

Notes

  • Auditors will require access to employee and volunteer files to evidence Standard 8.1
  • Standard 8.1 applies to all employees and volunteers that commence after April 1, 2016.
