Medication Management
Operators must establish, implement and maintain documented policies and procedures for Medication Management that must, at a minimum, include the following:
- the “8 Rights” of Medication Administration principles that Health Care Providers must adhere to when administering or assisting with medication:
- right medication;
- right Client;
- right dose;
- right time;
- right route;
- right reason;
- right documentation; and
- right to refuse a medication;
