This initiative is working toward improving the quality of life of individuals who interact with the Continuing Care system in Alberta. The initiative is ongoing from between 2023 through early 2026. It is comprised of three main goals: 

1. The development of a Quality of Life Framework to guide a provincial refocus on the experiences of individuals interacting with the Continuing Care system.
2. Determine how to best measure quality of life at both the individual and provincial levels to better understand how and where to focus improvement efforts.
3. Develop of Quality of Life Toolkit to provide front-line staff and leaders with additional resources and guidance that can be employed in Continuing Care Homes and programs. 

Alberta Quality of Life Framework

The Framework was developed by a large provincial working group with input from Continuing Care residents and families, front-line staff and leaders, medical and allied health experts and others.
