Substance Management
Substance Management
Substance management requires a harm reduction approach. It is important to include the client as part of the decision making team and encourage the client to speak freely about their wishes. Substance management aims to reduce the adverse health, social or economic consequences of the use of legal and illegal substances.
An evidence-based harm reduction approach shall be offered by programs and services and include early identification and prevention, health promotion, clinical care and treatment, and community services and referrals.
